The Event was sponsored by Chrysler and was co run by Exchange New Car Sales and Aafes. The Event was the brain child of Retha Horton of AAFES. Paul Doherty of Exchange New Car Sales organized the event, deciding on the rules and regulations and was the main point of contact for any entries or queries about the event.
Paul inspected all the vehicles before the race and spoke after the event thanking all the participants and their wonderful entries. Paul also spoke about the sponsors Chrysler and how they will be around for many more years with an even stronger product line. Billy Murphy of Exchange New Car Sales and Colonel Moscus were the time keepers. Billy also helped in the setting up of the stage and the finished line. There were professional photographers there from Human Affairs and the event will appear in both the Aafes Newspaper and the Stars and Stripes.
Such was the success of this event that immediately afterwards the request for another one in September, came from Cob Command.
